[SMM Social Inventory of Lead Ingots: Consumption Weakens Prior to Labour Day Holiday, Social Inventory of Lead Ingots Halts Decline and Rises] As the Labour Day holiday approaches, lead-acid battery enterprises have begun to take holidays one after another, leading to a shrinkage in the demand for lead ingots.         SMM April 30 News: According to SMM, as of April 30, the total social inventory of lead ingots in five regions tracked by SMM reached 45,300 mt, a decrease of approximately 900 mt from April 24 and an increase of approximately 800 mt from April 28.

As the Labour Day holiday approaches, lead-acid battery enterprises have begun to take holidays one after another, leading to a shrinkage in the demand for lead ingots. Consequently, the inventory of lead ingots in social warehouses has ceased to decline and has started to rise. The main factors influencing lead ingot inventory this week are as follows: On the one hand, secondary lead enterprises are generally operating at a loss, with most smelters in a state of production cuts or shutdowns, causing some demand to shift to the primary lead market. On the other hand, before the Labour Day holiday, many downstream enterprises have plans to take holidays, resulting in a decline in their enthusiasm for purchasing lead ingots before the holiday. Some have even suspended procurement, leading to an upward trend in social warehouse inventory. During the Labour Day holiday, production cuts by downstream enterprises will exceed those by lead smelters, and it is expected that the inventory buildup of lead ingots will further increase after the holiday.
